NIMBU MIRCHI TOTKA

Have you ever noticed seven green chillies (mirchi) and lemon (nimbu) tied to
each other hung on shops, factory or any workplace and at the entrance of
most household? It may sound creepy and spooky for most, it may be a totka
to ward off evil which is considered to keep any evil eye away from you.

Do you know the logical reason behind it?
During ancient time, when there no pakka houses, people used lemons and
chillies as natural disinfectants. The strong smell and taste of the two
ingredients help kill insects and kept pests away from entering the kachha
house
While we still don’t know how this became the part of Indian belief, most
people still believe it to be true.

ADDING ONE RUPEE COIN TO THE GIFT MONEY

On weddings and special occasions, we Indians generally like to gift
money and it amount to 100 or 1000 but 101 or 1001. We add one rupee
coin to the entire sum and it is considered as, blessing, love and care
from the person who is gifting it which also a part of traditional superstitious believe
But the main reason to add that extra coin is a psychological factor i.e to make the entire sum as an odd no. and it will be indivisible. It is good for married couple and
festival. If we don’t add one rupee coin the sum will end in zero which means “THE END”.It all depends on our thinking! There is nothing auspicious about it. It is just psychological game
